All right, all you creative people! Here's a plea for help:
My fiancee and I have been trying to come up with a simple and elegant wedding invitation for the small wedding we're planning in September.
So far, we have bupkis. Zilch. Nada.
The wedding itself is going to be small and at the city hall - since my fiancee is a Japanese citizen, and not Danish, we want to get the immigration formalities underway as soon as possible. Then, next summer (once we have saved up), we'll have a white wedding. We've set the date for the white wedding so that most of her family - and hopefully a lot of her friends from Japan - can attend.
Now, we're going to make and send the invitations for the small (official) wedding this Tuesday.
However, we seem to have misplaced our creativity. All we've come up with so far is that it should somehow bridge our two cultures and that it should have both Japanese and Danish text. Any suggestions and creative input people might wish to share with us will be gratefully accepted.
To sum up: September this year: Small wedding, no bling. About 25 guests, mostly my family and people we both know. August next year: Big white wedding. Lots of people from Japan. Need ideas for both, although only the one in September is semi-urgent right now.
